Friday January 31st

It’s hard to believe that January is already over!

Just a reminder to those who haven’t gotten the rest of the money in for SEVEC.  It can be paid by cheque and should include the student’s name and that it is for SEVEC in the memo/comment section for the school’s accounts.

We have started our English curriculum in the last couple of weeks and are using the 6+1 traits of writing as a foundation for both our French and English writing (especially moving into working on our speeches for Concours d’art Oratoire).  Please check the documents section of the website for more information on which trait we are working on each week (last week was “IDEAS” and this week was “VOICE” which we will continue working on next week).

In math students should complete questions on p308 of the textbook #1, 3, 4, 5, and 6.  Next week we will work on the reflections for this section and start module 8.4 (bissectrices).

In science we have started Chemistry and are working towards both quantitative and qualitative analysis and properties of matter.  We’ll be doing a lab on quatitative analysis next week.  The yellow package is for review and can be used as the “reflection” portion of the most recent entry in our interactive notebooks for “les propriétés quantitatives de la matière”.  We will be working on it in class next week so it’s not necessary to do for homework but will be due at the end of class next Thursday.
